7/8 Girls both go 1-1 at Warsaw Class

The Lady Norse travelled to Warsaw on Saturday to play Edgewood and Liberty in the Warsaw Classic. Both teams played very good opponents, each earning 1 win and 1 loss. The 7th grade lost its first game to a very athletic Edgewood team 31-7. Leading the way for the Norse was Addy Hawkens with 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Elaina Harrington chipped in 2 points and Cheyanne Wells had 1 point, 2 rebounds. The next game the Norse bounced back and ended up making a comeback victory over Liberty 32-24. The hot shooting Norse were led by Maguire Dyson with 12 points all coming in the 2nd half, 5 rebounds, 5 steals. Followed by another great shooting performance by Elaina Harrington with 10 points, 2 teals, 1 rebound. Addy Hawkens had 5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, and rounding out the scoring was Lydia Dubois with 5 points, 5 rebounds. The 8th grade Lady Norse started off the day with a huge win over a very solid Edgewood team winning 25-18. The Lady Norse were led by Kassidy Cartwright with 7 points, 2 rebounds. Followed by Miranda Meyer with 5 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, & 3 blocks. Others scoring for the Norse were: Avery Custer - 4 points, 1 steal Tenley Kuhn - 3 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, 1 block Rae Delgado - 3 points, 4 rebounds Vivian Rife - 2 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals, 1 assist Bella Schultz - 1 point, 5 rebounds, 3 steals The second game the Norse faced a very athletic and tall Liberty team. The Norse fought hard and were down 2 points at one point but the size and athleticism of Liberty was too much for the Norse, ended up falling 23-41. The Norse were led by Vivian Rife with 6 points, 2 rebounds Others scoring for the Norse: Kassidy Cartwright - 5 points Miranda Meyer - 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal Tenley Kuhn - 4 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists Avery Custer - 3 points, 1 rebound Bella Schultz - 1 point, 1 steal Rae Delgado - 9 rebounds The Norse return to action for a big home game against Southwood on Tuesday.
