Norsemen Wrestlers finished 2nd at TRC, crowning Three Champions.

The Northfield Varsity Boys' Wrestling Team showcased their resilience as they traveled to Maconaquah High School on Saturday to compete in the 2025 Three Rivers Conference Tournament. Despite facing challenges, the Norsemen finished 2nd out of 10 teams, with five wrestlers reaching the individual championship finals and three emerging as champions. Juniors Brayden Rice (32-6) and Tayten Barlow (36-2) claimed victory in the 126 and 138 lbs weight classes, respectively. Sophomore Eli Gahl continued undefeated season (38-0), pinning all his opponents to win the 150 lbs weight class championship. Kameron Pratt, a senior competing in the 144 lbs class (35-4), and freshman Cooper Good (24-8) in the 106 lbs class, both placed 2nd. Sophomores Rylan Schultz (175 lbs) and Rylan Turner (215 lbs) finished in 4th place. The team also saw 5th-place finishes from Junior Isaac Stakeman (132 lbs), Junior Luke Eviston (165 lbs), and Sophomore Cail Dunphy (285 lbs). Additionally, 7th place finishers included Junior Kale Coleman (190 lbs), Junior Xavier Roark (157 lbs), and Freshman Kason Fitch (113 lb). Northfield scored 157 points as a team, a notable improvement from their 6th-place finish in 2024. The Norsemen concluded their 2024-2025 season with an impressive record of 30-5 as they head into the postseason. Northfield will travel to Peru High School on February 1, 2025, to compete in the sectional tournament.
