7th Falls against tough Bluffton team, 8th wins a thriller

The Lady Norse hosted Bluffton on Thursday night. 7th grade started the night falling to a very athletic Bluffton team 37-8. Leading the way for the Norse was Maguire Dyson with 6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. Followed by Bristal Foust with 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. The Norse look to bounce back against Maconaquah next Tuesday. The 8th grade Lady Norse won a thriller against Bluffton 32-29. The Norse came out strong the first half outscoring Bluffton 22-8. The defense was incredible by the Norse as they held a very big and athletic team to only 8 points and shooting 17% for Bluffton. Tenley Kuhn and Miranda Meyer held Bluffton's 2 leader scorers to a combined 11 points last night as well. The Tigers came fighting back the 2nd half but the Norse composure and good guard ball handling skills led them to hold off the Tigers from making a comeback win. The Lady Norse were led by a perfect first half shooting Gemma Haupert with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Followed by Miranda Meyer with a tough 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Bella Schultz came off the bench and scored at crucial times for the Norse and shut down Bluffton's biggest defender. She ended up with 6 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist. Avery Custer rounded out the scoring with 1 point, 1 rebound, 4 steals, and 1 assist. Other contributors were: Tenley Kuhn - 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assist Vivian Rife - 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal Kassidy Cartwright - 2 rebounds, 2 assist The 8th grade Lady Norse look to extend their perfect season as they travel to Whitko to play in the Whitko Classic on Saturday.
