In April 2024, the Indiana High School Athletic Association sanctioned Girls' wrestling, marking a historic moment in the sport. This decision led to the creation of a Sectional and Regional tournament route to a State Champion. The Four Lady Norsemen, the pioneers of this new era, made history by traveling to Western High School Friday to compete in the inaugural Sectional Tournament. Two ladies came away as Sectional Champions, a feat that will be remembered in the annals of Northfield High School's sports history. Senior Ella Gahl at 155 lbs, and Sophomore Armarah Frieden at 135 lbs. Both went 3-0 on the day and are advancing to Regionals. Sophomore Kaedance Mitchell placed 5th in the 100lbs weight class and is an alternate for Regionals. Sophomore Olia Leffert did not place, but her participation in this historic event is noteworthy. The IHSAA Girls Regionals will be held on 01/10/25 at Rochester High School. This is a crucial event for the Lady Norsemen, and they need our support more than ever. Let's come together as a community and show our unwavering support for our team. Please come out and cheer for the Lady Norsemen as they continue their journey in this historic season.
