Northfield Places 1st at TRC Super Dual Wrestling Tournament

The Boy's Varsity Wrestling Team competed in the first Three Rivers Conference (TRC) Super Duals Wrestling Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Maconaquah High School. The TRC Super Duals has all Ten TRC Teams head-to-head over two days to determine the best Conference Dual Team. Placing 1st, Northfield finished with a record of 8-1, only losing an extremely close match to the Peru Tigers (44-36). Team records came to a three-way tie between Lewis-Cass, Peru, and Northfield, all three with a record of 9-1. The Norsemen's victory came from a total team points score of 501. The tournament highlight for Northfield was the Norsemen defeating the Class 1A #4 State Ranked and 2024 Class 1A Team State Champions Rochester Zebras (54-30). Overall, the team's performance was outstanding, with four Norsemen, senior Kameron Pratt, junior Brayden Rice, Tate Barlow, and sophomore Eli Gahl, going 9-0 in the tournament. Their dual match scores were as follows: Round #1 Northfield: 53 Manchester: 23 Round #2 Northfield: 58 Maconaquah: 22 Round #3 Northfield: 54 Rochester: 30 Round #4 Northfield: 71 Northwestern: 12 Round #5 Northfield: 36 Peru: 44 Round #6 Northfield: 44 Lewis-Cass: 33 Round #7 Northfield: 49 Wabash: 30 Round #8 Northfield: 54 Whitko: 18 Round #9 Northfield: 82 Southwood: 00 Northfield's next challenge is a crucial match against North Miami on December 12th. This match will be a significant test for the team and an opportunity to further demonstrate their Wild Card Bid for a chance to wrestle at the Class 1A Team State Tournament.
