The Lady Norsemen Varsity Wrestling Team traveled to Columbia City Friday and Saturday to compete in the Girl's Wrestling Thanksgiving Classic. The event, which our team was a part of, hosted 42 teams comprised of over 300 ladies. Northfield took four wrestlers and placed 20th overall. Number 1 Ranked Senior Ella Gahl went 5-0, placing 1st in the challenging 155-pound weight class of 32 women. Number 11th Ranked Sopohmoroe Amarah Frieden was 5th in the 135-pond weight class. Amarah went 5-2 on the two-day tournament, only losing to the #1 (overall Champion) & #3 (3rd place) ranked girls in the state. Sophomores Kaedence Mitchell and Olia Leffert went 1-2, not placing. The Lady Norsemen next host the Peru Tigers and Blackford Bruins on Tuesday, December 3rd. Wrestling starts at 6:00 p.m.
