Lady Noremen Place 17th and Gahl Places 1st at Sarah Hildebrandt Women's Wrestling Invitational

Lady Norsemen, with a commendable performance, secured the 17th position, while Gahl, with their exceptional skills, clinched the 1st position at the Sarah Hildebrandt Invitational. On Saturday, four Lady Norsemen traveled 72 miles to Mishawaka, Indiana, to Penn High School to compete in the Sarah Hildebrandt Women's Wrestling Invitational. The Sarah Hildebrandt Women's Wrestling Invitational, Indiana's largest Girls' wrestling event, was a grand affair, hosting an impressive 46 teams and over 400 varsity and junior varsity wrestlers. It was named after Granger, Indiana, native Sarah Hildebrandt. Sarah is an Olympic Bronze Medalist, a seven-time Wrestling medalist, and the first female to qualify for the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Wrestling Semi-State. Hildebrandt was one of two American women to win a Gold Medal in Wrestling at the 2024 Olympics. She is the fourth woman to win Gold in Team USA Wrestling history. Senior Ella Gahl placed first in the 155-lb weight class, going 4-0 in an extremely tough 15-woman bracket. Sophomore Amarah Frieden went 2-2 in the 135-lb weight class in a 30-woman bracket. Sophomore Oila Leffert went 1-2 at the 125. Junior Kaedence Mitchel went 0-2 in the 100-lb weight class. The Lady Norsemen's next trip to Rochester High School for the Lady Zebra's Invitational is November 23rd.
