Five Advance as Barlow Hits Historic Win Mark, Gahl Still Undefeated in Northfield’s 3rd-Place Finish at Regional

Northfield turned in an impressive performance at the regional tournament, finishing third overall and qualifying five wrestlers for Semi-State. The Norsemen were powered by a regional championship from Elijah Gahl and multiple podium finishes across the lineup. Regional Highlights • Elijah Gahl (175) dominated the field, going 3–0 with three falls to capture the regional championship, accounting for 24 team points. • Rylan Turner (215) reached the finals and finished runner-up, scoring 18 points with two falls. • Cail Dunphy (285) also placed second, earning 18 points after advancing to the championship match. • Tayten Barlow (144) fought back to place third, contributing 11 points. Barlow’s quarterfinal victory marked his 132nd career win, tying the Northfield school record held by Matt Holmes since 1998. • Brayden Rice (138) placed fourth, adding 8 points after a strong run to the semifinals. With momentum on their side and five wrestlers advancing, Northfield heads to Semi-State looking to continue its postseason success.
