The 8th grade team traveled to Northwestern and came out on top with a 32-17 victory. The Norsemen showed up ready to play flying all over the court getting rebounds and steals. The Norse got out to an early lead and held it to halftime with an 11-8 lead. The Norsemen came out at halftime ready to put the game away. the 8th graders went on a 10-0 run as the 3rd quarter began. Winning the third quarter 15-2. Northfield defended very well allowing them to coast through the 4th quarter to advance in the tourney. Offensively they played great team ball with 6 kids scoring. Leading the way was Selleck with 9, Renbarger with 7, Holbert with 6, haupert with 5, Biehl with 3, and McKillip with 2. They will play Saturday at Southwood in the final four of the RRC tournament. The 7th grade boys lost our RRC tournament game to Northwestern Thursday night by a score of 40-17. We got off to a slow start and struggled to rebound throughout the game. Northwestern lead at half 24-8. We responded on offense in the third quarter scoring 8 points and didn’t allow a point in the 4th quarter. The 7th grade boys showed improvement in many areas throughout the year. We appreciate all their efforts and willingness to show up and compete.
