Northfield Wrestling Rolls Past West Noble; Varsity and JV Sweep Chargers on the Road

LIGONIER, Ind. — The Northfield wrestling program delivered a commanding performance Tuesday night at West Noble, with both the Varsity and Junior Varsity squads securing decisive victories. The Norse combined for 17 match wins, including 13 pins, on their way to a varsity 54–29 triumph and a JV 30–0 shutout. Northfield’s varsity lineup set the tone early and surged throughout the dual, picking up momentum through the middle and upper weights. The Norse earned seven pins and two forfeits to control the scoreboard from start to finish. Key falls came from Wyatt Steller (132), Tayten Barlow (144), Luke Eviston (157), Mason Steller (165), Elijah Gahl (175), Rylan Turner (215), and heavyweight Cail Dunphy (285). Kedryk Haecker and Cooper Good added important bonus points with forfeits, while Northfield’s aggressive pace overwhelmed the Chargers in the second half of the dual. Varsity Final Score: Northfield 54 — West Noble 29 The JV squad completed a clean sweep, winning all five contested matches — each by fall. Northfield’s younger athletes displayed impressive energy and technical improvement, demonstrating the depth developing within the Norse wrestling room. Reece Fitch opened the action with a first period pin at 113, followed by quick falls from Brennan Swan (138), Johnny Lowery (144), and Jonathan Young (190). Heavyweight Ray Swick closed out the night with a strong pin in 2:43 to secure the JV shutout. With the win at West Noble, the Norsemen close the 2025–2026 regular season with an outstanding 35–7 record. Over the course of the year, Northfield outscored its opponents 2,252 to 1,000, demonstrating both dominance and depth across the lineup. The team now turns its attention to the postseason with strong momentum and confidence. The Norsemen next compete in the Three Rivers Conference (TRC) Tournament on Saturday, January 24th at Maconaquah High School.
