Northfield Wrestling Dominates Eastern Holiday Classic, Claims Team Title and Memorial Trophy

Greentown, IN – December 2025 The Northfield Boys Wrestling Team delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 Eastern Holiday Classic, capturing the team championship and earning the prestigious George Robert “Bob” Jarrett Jr. Coach’s Memorial Trophy for recording the most pins in the tournament with an impressive 43 combined falls. The Norsemen showcased depth and dominance across all weight classes, finishing undefeated in team competition. Key contributors included Cooper Good (120 lbs), Tayten Barlow (144 lbs), and Elijah Gahl (175 lbs), who each went 9-0 on the day. Barlow and Gahl consistently secured lightning-fast pins, many under two minutes, while Good added critical victories to maintain Northfield’s momentum. Team Scores Across Duals: • Carroll: 72–12 • Madison Grant: 59–22 • Clinton Prairie: 59–18 • Tipton: 54–28 • Sheridan: 66–18 • Eastern: 45-34 • Tri-Central: 59–24 • Fremont: 48–36 • Eastbrook: 71–12 Other standout wrestlers included Luke Eviston (157 lbs), Brayden Rice (138 lbs), Rylan Turner (215 lbs), and Cail Dunphy (285 lbs), each contributing multiple pins and technical falls. Freshmen Kedryk and Kiptyn Haecker impressed with quick victories at 106 and 113 pounds. Northfield’s aggressive style and relentless pursuit of pins were instrumental in securing the tournament trophy and reinforcing their reputation as one of Indiana’s premier 1A wrestling programs.
