Will Inman poured in 20 points on 7 of 8 shooting (including 5 of 6 from 3-pt range) to lead Edgewood to a 50 - 41 win over Eastern Greene on Senior Night. The Mustangs jumped out to an early 12 - 2 lead, but then allowed the Thunderbirds to claw their way back into the game and headed into the locker room at the half holding only a slim 1-point advantage. The beginning of the 3rd quarter saw Eastern Greene jump ahead by as many as 6 points, but from there the Mustangs' defense was finally re-awakened, allowing Edgewood to retake the lead going into the 4th quarter. And, while they were never able to break the game open, the Mustangs never were seriously challenged down the stretch. In addition to Inman's 20, Carson Huttenlocker scored 7 points, Caden Jones had 6, Nolan Reynolds scored 5 points and Reece Roberts had 4. Finally, AJ Norris scored 3 points, Carl Norris and Kam Ranard had 2 points apiece, and Owen McGovern had 1 point to round out the scoring. Jones led the way on the glass with 7 rebounds and AJ Norris added 5, while AJ also had 3 assists, as did Roberts and Huttenlocker to lead those categories for Edgewood. Remarkably, the Mustangs didn't have a turnover in the second half. Prior to the game, the Mustangs honored their 6 seniors -- Caden Huttenlocker, Will Inman, Owen McGovern, Carl Norris, Kam Ranard and Nolan Reynolds - for the positive contributions they have all made to the program over their careers. Congratulations to these outstanding young men! With tonight's win, Edgewood ends their regular season on a 3-game winning streak, and hopes to extend that even further when they open Sectional play against Indianapolis Washington on Tuesday evening at Cascade High School.
