After giving up 22 points to Brown County in the first half, the Edgewood JV was challenged to play better defense after the break. They responded to that challenge in a big way -- allowing only 6 second-half points -- in a dominant 80 - 28 win over the visiting Eagles. For the game, the Mustangs' defense forced 36 turnovers -- many of which led to easy baskets on the offensive end. Henry Norris scored 21 points, while Dylan Wicken had 15 and Aiden Bing scored 12 to lead Edgewood. In addition, Carter Hayden scored 9 points, Jack Ripley had 7, Evan Enghauser scored 6, Eli Lirot had 5, Evan Jacobs scored 4 points and Trae Shields had 1 as all 9 Mustangs reached the scoring column. Hayden led with 6 rebounds while Ripley and Enghauser had 4 each; Jacobs had 6 assists and Hayden added 4 more; and Shields grabbed 6 steals, while Norris and Jacobs had 4 each and Wickens, Bing, Ripley and Hayden all had 3 apiece to lead those categories for Edgewood. The JV Mustangs will finish their season on Thursday night when they host Eastern Greene.
