Edgewood jumped out to an early lead and held it for most of the game, until a fateful turnover with under a minute to play led to a Mitchell lay-up and their first lead. The Bluejacket lead didn't last for long, though, as Carson Huttenlocker hit a go-ahead 3-pointer from the right corner with 4 seconds remaining. A long Mitchell attempt at the buzzer fell short, and the Mustangs came home with an exciting 63 - 61 victory. For the game, the Mustangs shot a blistering 65% from the field, including 77% from 2-point range (20/26). Kam Ranard scored 23 points to lead Edgewood, while Reece Roberts added a career-high 14. In addition, Caden Jones scored 10 points, Huttenlocker had 6, Will Inman scored 4, and AJ Norris, Owen McGovern, and Carl Norris each had 2 points to complete the scoring. Carl Norris and Ranard both grabbed 4 rebounds each and Roberts added 3, and Ranard had 4 steals to lead those categories, while McGovern and Roberts passed out 4 and 3 assists, respectively. Edgewood will try to make it two in a row when they host Brown County on Tuesday evening.
