Edgewood knocks of West Vigo 61 - 58

Edgewood allowed visiting West Vigo to make it closer than it should've been down the stretch, but in the end the Mustangs prevailed 61 - 58 in Western Indiana Conference action. After re-taking the lead late in the 2nd quarter, Edgewood would never relinquish it again, stretching it to 11 points with only 1:30 left in the 4th quarter. The Mustangs then withstood a furious Viking rally by connecting on 6 of 8 from the free throw line in the final minute. Edgewood was led by Caden Jones with 21 points and 9 rebounds, while Carson Huttenlocker added 13 points and 3 steals. In addition, Kam Ranard scored 9 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists, and Will Inman had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists while also turning in a stellar defensive performance. Finally, AJ Norris scored 4 points, Carl Norris had 3, Owen McGovern scored 2 points to go with 5 rebounds, and Reece Roberts had 1 point to complete the scoring for the Mustangs The Mustangs are back in action on Thursday, Feb. 6 when they make the short trip to Bloomington North.
