Edgewood improved to 2 - 0 on the season (and 2 - 0 in Western Indiana Conference play), caging the Cougars of North Putnam by a 73 - 44 score. The Mustangs pulled into the lead midway through the first quarter and then continued to extend their lead in each of the final 3 periods to roll to the easy win. Carson Huttenlocker found the range from deep - hitting his first four 3-point shots to finish with 14 points, while Kam Ranard added 8 points and Reece Roberts scored 6. Rounding out the scoring for Edgewood was Caden Jones with 5 points, AJ Norris, Will Inman, and Carl Norris with 4 points each, and Carter Hayden with 2 points. In addition to McGovern's 10 rebounds, Ranard, Inman and Jones each pulled down 6 to help the Mustangs dominate on the glass. Finally, Nolan Reynolds dished out 5 assists and AJ Norris added 4 to lead that category for Edgewood. The Mustangs home opener is on Friday evening when they play host to Cascade.
