Edgewood opened its season in impressive fashion last night with a dominant 71 - 42 win at Cloverdale. The Mustangs followed the game plan to a T as they locked down the Clovers best scorers on defense and continually attacked the basket on offense. Edgewood was led by Owen McGovern, who tallied 22 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals on the night. Caden Jones also was in double figures with 11 points, while Reece Roberts had 9 and Carson Huttenlocker added 8 points to go along with 3 steals. In all, 11 different Mustangs reached the scoring column, with Kam Ranard scoring 5 points (along with 6 boards), AJ Norris and Carter Hayden both had 4 points, Nolan Reynolds had 3, Will Inman and Carl Norris had 2 points each and Dylan Wickens had 1 point to complete the scoring for Edgewood. The Mustangs are back in action tonight when they travel to North Putnam.
