EHS Falls Short in Marathon Match

By John Kerr | Aug 30, 2024 7:54 AM

After a heat, then lightning delay, EHS took on OV last night. 1 and 2 singles jumped out to an early lead and were able to each pull in wins. Andrew Paul beat Rhet Heckman at 1 Singles 6-2, 6-0 and Dane Weisner beat Sean Goss at 2 Singles 6-1, 6-2. A little bit later, OV took the 1 Doubles match with Kyvan Manning and Adam Samick beating Jaylin Luedemann and Cam Abel 4-6, 2-6. By this point, 2 doubles had to start a 3rd set after splitting the first two while 3 singles was just beginning their second set. 2 Doubles finished their third set and ended with OV's Alex Livingston and Hudson Charles outlasting Edgewood's Carter Walker and Ryne Klinger with a final score of 6-4, 2-6, 5-7. 3 Singles was still in set 2 and in the midst of a tie-breaker to determine the set and forcing a 3rd. After a grueling marathon of a match Austin Nunn lost to Kolby Brown 6-7 (1-7), 7-6 (8-6), 4-6. We meet up with OV several times a year and you can count on Edgewood not forgetting this loss easily, especially after sweeping OV last year.
