On a windy evening at North Daviess High School the Boys Tennis team went down 1-4. The lone victory came at 1 singles by Andrew Paul. Andrew beat senior Blake Huff 6-3, 6-4. He took control early and adapted well to the stellar net game of Huff. The other notable match came at 1 Doubles. Jaylin Luedemann and Cam Abel took their match to a third set, but fell short of the victory with a 4-6, 6-4, 1-6 final score. The rest of the breakdown is as follows: at 2 singles, Dane Weisner 2-6, 3-6; at 3 singles, Austin Nunn 0-6, 1-6; and at 2 doubles, Carter Walker and Ryne Klinger 3-6, 1-6. Overall, it was a pretty good showing for our first match. The varsity selections were completed late last week, so going into the first match, there hadn't been much time to work together at doubles to build up the chemistry necessary to be more successful. We look to Bloomington High School North next Tuesday for another chance to get better.
