Yesterday, a game of runs ended with Edgewood on top. Unfortunately, the Mustangs were on the other side of the coin today, losing to Martinsville 59 - 48. Edgewood trailed by 10 at the half, but stormed all the way back to take a 2-point lead midway through the 3rd quarter. However, Martinsville then scored the next 12 points to regain control and the Mustangs weren't able to mount a second comeback. Carter Hayden and Reece Roberts led the way with 13 points each, while Caden Jones added 10. Finally, Luke Druckrey scored 6 points, Zane Powell had 4, and AJ Norris had 2 points to complete the scoring for Edgewood. Jones led with 5 rebounds, with Hayden and Roberts adding 4 apiece. A trio of Mustangs -- Norris, Roberts, and Druckrey had 2 assists each, and Druckrey also had 3 steals to lead those categories. Edgewood is now in the 5th place bracket and will face Bloomfield at 4:00 on Monday.
