Records Broken, Great Performances In Apache Track And Field Invitational

Two school records and a multitude of personal records were broken at Friday evenings Apache Track and Field Invitational. Coleson Kugler broke the school record in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.88 besting the previous time of 49.90 set by Bryan DeBoard in 1993. Later in the meet he came back and broke his own 200 meter dash record with a time of 21.87. The 4x800 relay of Ezra Church, Jace Bullins, Brett Shull, and Chase Howard started the meet off with a win in meet record time. The 100 meter saw freshman Preston Cantrell run a new PR posting an 11.61 in route to a 4th place finish The 1600 was a race to not to be missed. A blistering pace by Senior Jonas Church and Junior Caidan Burchett allowed them to go 1-2 and set new personal records in the process - 4:32.00 by Jonas and 4:33.47 by Caidan. This puts Jonas 10th all time in school history and Caidan 14th all time in the 1600. Kasen Oswalt also secured points for the team clocking a seasons best 5:06 in the process. The 800 was another 1-2 finish as Jonas Church won with his brother Ezra coming in 2nd. Ezra set a new PR at 2:01.86. Brett Shull added points with his 5th place finish. In the 3200 Isaiah Cordes set a new PR clocking a 9:50 with Jace Bullins coming in 2nd in a gutsy all out race. Kasen Oswalt returned from a strong 1600 effort to run the 3200 giving every ounce of effort he had. In the hurdle races Isaiah Jones continues to improve. In the 110 high's he clocked a PR in route to a 5th place finish and did the same in the 300's with another PR. Kristian Stanton secured points with a 6th place finish in pole vault Braxten Beeks nailed down 2nd place finish in disc with a new PR of 130' 7" and a 4th place finish in shot. Gabe LePage threw over 30' for the first time in shot. In the long Jump Jarrett McWhirt and Preston Cantrell went 5th and 6th. In the high jump Jarrett came in 5th The 4x100 relay of Kristian Stanton, Preston Cantrell, Jarrett McWhirt, and Colin Patton came in 3rd. The 4x400 relay of Jonas Church, Caidan Burchett, Chase Howard, and Ezra Church came away as champions clocking an impressive 3:35.18
