The 4 running Lady Apaches travelled Saturday morning to Regionals hosted at Huntington University’s Cross Country Course. The girls focused on running intentionally, chasing down the race they had earned by qualifying for the Regional race. With 3 of the 4 girls being new to the Regional scene, the girls prepped themselves to give it their all and experience every moment of the race to the fullest. Taking off fast, the girls fought through a tight first mile. Slowly thinning the packs into mile 2, the girls were able to run quick through the trees and around the field. Taking advantage of the blind turns on their opponents. Taking the curves with speed for the third and final mile, the girls left it all out on the course. The girls visualized themselves running a tough race and finished in true Apache style, with grit and perseverance. First for the team was sophomore, Mia Fairchild, finishing her season with a time of 21:31. Fairchild placed 100th overall. Next up was our team senior, Ivy Beamer, with a career PR time of 21:49 and placing 116th overall. Chasing down Beamer was Mallory Tart, a sophomore with a season ending time of 23:36. Tart finished in as the 196th individual. Rounding out the group of four was Maya Howard, a junior, finishing her season with a time of 23:57. Howard placed 210th overall. The season has ended for the girls, but the flame of determination to fight for one another has only grown with anticipation for the 2025 season. We thank our senior runner, Ivy Beamer, for her efforts and contribution to the team these past 4 years. We also thank our senior manager, Olivia Shelton, for everything she has done to assist the team. We wish you both the best in your future endeavors. With that, we look forward to seeing the girls back in action next fall!
