Varsity vs Blackford High School (4 - 1) Win Wabash heads into sectionals after a final regular season win over Blackford (4-1) at the beautiful confines of Honeywell Courts. Match Outcome Below: At 1 singles, Mattern won easily with a match score of 6-1, 6-2. Playing comfortably early and being in control of the match allowed Mattern to work developing some other skill sets to improve his offensive tennis game. Similarly, at 2 singles Long cruised to a two set victory 6-1, 6-0. After being broken in the first game of the match, Long found his stride and gained confidence with each shot, ultimately not giving up any more games for the entirety of the match. 3 singles started a bit tight for Coffman who then played his tennis, keeping the ball in play and moving his opponent around the court to finish with a 6-2, 6-0 victory. 1-dubs pulled off a nice win to complete their season. Shepler and Pence started strong and continued that level of play to seal a 6-1, 6-2 victory. 2 dubs was a forfeit by Wabash due to illness. TJ Tracy played two JV matches winning both. Wabash now heads into sectional play at Peru this week. Go Apaches.
