The girls varsity soccer team fell to Lapel tonight with a score of 5-0. The Lady Apaches were down to just 12 players due to injury and illness and were strongly outmatched and outnumbered by a very strong Lapel 7-1-1 team. Wabash was down just 1-0 at half, with multiple scoring opportunities and playing very even with Lapel. The 2nd half, Lapel was able to take advantage and put goals back to back away, when Wabash was out of subs and they were able to sub 3-4 girls at a time and have fresh legs. Every eligible player on the roster played quality minutes tonight and it was truly a tremendous team effort. Kait Honeycutt had 9 saves in goal. Wabash is now 4-5 on the season and return to play at home on Saturday in a boys/girls soccer double-header with the girls playing at Noon against Logansport.
