Apache Boys Track Team Has Standout Performances At Sectional, Qualify Individuals in 11 Events For Regional Meet

Great weather and excellent competition created ideal conditions for standout performances in Thursday's boys sectional track meet at Marion High School. Behind school records in the 100 and 200 Coleson Kugler was one of many Apache athletes to qualify for next weeks regional track meet in Fort Wayne. Wabash finished 4th out of 14 teams with a score of 83. Marion and Oak Hill tied for the win at 118 apiece. Norwell came in 3rd with 102. Individuals who finish in the top 3 of each event automatically qualify for next weeks regional. Athletes not finishing in the top 3 of each event can still qualify for regional if their time or distance is one of the next four best out of the 4 sectionals that feed into the regional. Regional Qualifiers for Wabash were Coleson Kugler - 100 (new school record of 11.01), 200 (sectional champion, new school record of 22.06) Spencer Stout - 110H (sectional champion), 300H (sectional champion) Isaac Byers - discus, shot put The 4x800 relay of Jonas Church, Chase Howard, Drew Guenin-Hodson, Ezra Church The 4x400 relay of Spencer Stout, Brett Shull, Drew Guenin-Hodson, Coleson Kugler Jonas Church - 800 Ezra Church - 1600 Isaiah Cordes - 3200 Kaden Vogel - 3200 Other placers for Wabash include Caidan Burchett - 7th in the 1600 with a new personal record of 4:48.49, TJ Fritter with a 12th place finish in pole vault, Kristian Stanton who finished 14th in long jump, Isaiah Jones - 23rd in long jump, and Braydon French - 28th in shot put, Grant Ford 21st in discus, Max Carpenter finished 19th in the 300 hurdles. These Apaches will be back in action next Thursday at Carroll High School in Fort Wayne
