By Kristyn Ford | May 14, 2024 10:12 AM

On Monday night, the tennis team traveled to Maconaquah for the last regular-season match of the season. Wabash fell 0-5. The wind was strong, and the girls were not able to adjust their game play to take advantage of the wind and have it work in their favor. Alexa Johnson (1 singles) lost 0-6, 1-6. Emma Adams (2 singles) lost 0-6, 2-6. Hadley Schuler (3 singles) lost 2-6, 3-6. Coach Ford shared, “Once again, Hadley had the longest and most competitive match of the night. Her points were long, and she went into deuce in multiple games. She worked hard to make a comeback and capitalize on the opportunities she was given, but she fell just short”. At 1 doubles, Abbi Hipskind and Maddie Von Uhl struggled tonight. They fell 0-6, 0-6. At 2 doubles, Bridget Bailey and Emma Weaver had a close first set, losing 3-6. They lost the second set 1-6. Coach Ford shared, “Our doubles girls are skilled players. Despite their individual skills, they struggled to work together with their partner, leading to frequent miscommunication and missed opportunities. I’m confident that they will find their rhythm again and be ready to go for sectionals!” On Thursday at 5:15, Wabash will play the winner of Southwood/Peru at Peru. Please come out and support our girls at Sectionals!
