Wabash High School

The Wabash High School girls cross country team traveled to West Noble to compete against a strong field of 165 athletes while facing rainy weather and challenging racing conditions. Despite the difficult conditions and tough competition, the Lady Apaches battled throughout the race to finish 12th as a team. The West Noble course provided another significant challenge for the runners, with difficult terrain and conditions that made it important to stay focused and maintain a steady pace. Combined with the rain, the course tested the girls' ability to push through fatigue and adjust to less-than-ideal racing conditions. The Lady Apaches showed determination throughout the race and continued competing hard all the way to the finish. Teresina Cordes (freshman) led the way for Wabash finishing 2nd overall in 18:55. Sophomore, Mya Golliher was the second Wabash runner across the finish line, placing 50th in 22:29, followed by senior Mallory Tart, who finished 104th in 24:41. Another senior was Mia Fairchild who came through just behind her teammate, taking 109th in 24:50, while Emma Cantrell (sophomore) rounded out the Wabash scoring lineup with a 141st-place finish in 27:20. The rainy conditions added another challenge to an already competitive meet, but the Lady Apaches continued to fight through the finish and gain valuable racing experience. The team will look to build on the effort as the season continues.
