WMS Girls Cross Country Team Takes 4th Place in Season Opener

The Wabash Middle School girls cross country team opened their season at the Mississinewa Invitational, finishing 4th overall. The girls showed great effort, determination, and teamwork as they took on their first competition together. This strong start gives the team plenty to build on as the season continues. Coming in first for the running Apaches race crew was 8th grader Grace Jones, taking 7th place overall and running a time of 14:03. Second for the team was 5th grader, Caroline Myers, running in with a time of 14:37 and placing 12th overall. Following in was 6th grader Eva Sommers with a time of 15:31 and taking 21st place in the race. Leading a string of Apaches was 6th grader Ruby Cantrell with a time of 16:32 and placing 30th overall. Another Apache into the shoot was 5th grader, Lily Hearn, running in with a time of 16:35 and taking 31st place. The next Apache was our 5th grader, Lola Hill, with a time of 17:08 and coming in 32nd in the line up. Next for the team was 6th grader, Braelyn Jones, running in with a time of 17:11 and placing 33rd. The next Apache in was 5th grader Haven Cook with a time of 117:31 and placed 38th overall. Right behind her was 5th grader Marlowe Fansher with a time of 17:32 and placing 39th overall. Following into the shoot was 8th grader Alexis Lynn with a time of 18:02. Lynn placed 45th overall. Up next was 6th grader Rory Edwards, finishing her race with a time of 19:08 and taking 51st place. Next into the shoot was 5th grader, Alora Hampton, with a time of 19:24 and finishing in 52nd place. Next up was another 5th grader, Roslyn Hall, with a placement of 54th and running in with a time of 20:11. Following into the shoot was Harper Ellet, an 8th grader. Ellet ran a time of 20:14. Not far from her was 5th grader Lauren Cook with a time of 20:23 and in 56th place. Up next was a newcomer to the team, 7th grader Raelyn Page with a time of 23:31 and taking 61st place. Round out the Apaches was 7th grader Daisy Ravenscroft finishing her race in a time of 26:08 and placed 64th overall. Up next, the girls will take on the Taylor Invitational next Saturday!
