Coleson Kugler came away with two event championships at the sectional meet Thursday evening at Marion High School winning the 200 and 400 meter dashes. This qualifies him for the regional track meet in Fort Wayne next Thursday. Any athlete finishing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their respective event automatically moves on. Ezra Church came away with a 2nd place finish in the 800 and was a member of the 4x800 meter relay along with Caidan Burchett, James Unger, and Luis Trejo that also qualified for the regional. Other notable performances include Braxten Beeks' 6th place finish in the shot put and Ian Edmonds 10th place finish in the pole vault. Kamden Oswalt dropped 30 seconds from his previous personal record in the 3200 during a spectacular race that saw him battle throughout the entire 8 laps ending in a fantastic last lap where he dropped a 1:07 and fought through the line ultimately ending with a 4th place finish. In that same race James Unger knocked 4 seconds off his previous best time. Michael LePage improved 1.5 seconds in his 400 running the best race of his life.
