Varsity vs Manchester Jr-Sr High School (1 - 4) Loss Saturday morning saw an exciting game between TRC Manchester and the Wabash Boys Soccer team. The first half was hotly contested with the Squires dominating possession but the Apache defense standing firm. Manchester broke the deadlock with about 3 minutes to go as they were able to break down the Wabash backline with a cross and a one-touch finish. The Apaches didn't wait to get the equalizer as Caleb Daugherty was able to sneak a shot past the Manchester keeper with 9 seconds to go in the half. Both teams came out in the second half prepared to match the intensity of the first. Wabash was able to hold off the Manchester attack for another 20 minutes before the Squires were able to net two goals in quick succession to go up 3-1. The Apaches looked to claw one back in the last quarter of the game and MAnchester was able to capitalize on the stretched Wabash formation to get their fourth goal in the waning moments of the match. Will Galley, Derek Reed, and Prestyn Jones anchored the defense while Max Carpenter and Coleson Kugler held down the outside of the back line. Owen Honeycutt put in a great 80 minutes of hustle in the center of the field. Wabash has another TRC match on Tuesday at LH Carpenter when they face Peru.
