Ursuline Cheer Wins MCCA St. Louis Regional Championship The Ursuline Academy cheer team is heading into the state competition with another championship to celebrate. The Bears captured first place in the Class 3A Small Division at the MCCA St. Louis Regional Cheer Competition, held September 19 and 20 at Francis Howell North High School. Ursuline took the floor at 10 a.m. on Sunday as the first team to compete. The Bears earned the regional title in a seven-team division featuring St. Charles West, Perryville, Oak Grove, Mexico, Pleasant Hill, and Kirksville. The victory meant even more after a challenging week filled with last-minute changes and unexpected obstacles. The team responded with resilience, trust, and determination. They stayed focused, supported one another, and delivered a championship performance when their moment arrived. Head coach Jacie Coleman praised the athletes for their strength and determination. She also expressed gratitude for assistant coaches Jenna Duenwald, Sophie Dolan, and Kate Townsend, who stepped forward to lead, support, and care for the team throughout the week. Ursuline enters the next stage of competition as the three-time defending state champion. The Bears now have their sights set on a fourth consecutive state title.
