Bears Battle St. Joe’s in Four-Set GISL Match The Ursuline Bears faced St. Joseph’s Academy in a four-set GISL volleyball match Thursday night. Brynn Valin led the Ursuline attack with 11 kills and a .500 hitting percentage. She committed only two errors across 18 attempts. Valin also added two blocks. Paige Mitchell directed the offense with 23 assists. She contributed nine digs and two service aces. Reese Mitchell led the Bears from the service line with three aces and recorded 11 digs. Sophia Brinley added two aces and 11 digs. Reese Adamec finished with four kills, 10 digs, and a team-high three blocks. Noelle Potsos contributed four kills and nine digs. The Bears recorded eight service aces as a team. Their defensive effort included five players with nine or more digs. Ursuline will build on the lessons from its first GISL match as the Bears continue their early-season schedule.
