Congratulations to Ethan Miller whose academic accomplishments have led to the honor of being named to the first team for Academic All-State by the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches. Juniors Nathan Ferrell and Greyson Farmer were listed as honorable mentions for this year’s Academic All-State. Ahead of the boys IHSAA Regional meet, where Ethan helped earn the 4x800 meter relay a spot to compete, we wanted to check in with him about his award and future plans. Who are you, and what are your future plans? My name is Ethan Miller and I plan on going to George Washington University to study Economics. Who has supported you on your academic and athletic journey? My parents supported me most on my academic and athletic journey from proofreading papers to taking me to and from practice and physical therapy. They have also always been there for me and always want the best for me. In addition to this, Mr. Lambright has been a valuable asset to have not only during Cross Country and Track but also in the classroom. He has constantly pushed me to do my best and has inspired me with his academic excellence. What does it mean to you to be a scholar-athlete? It means a great deal to me as I have always tried to balance academics and athletics. It is nice to get recognized for this. What will you take with you from your athletic experience? By being in sports over the years, I have realized the extreme benefit of staying in shape and how it makes me both mentally and physically better. Anything else you'd like to say/thank/shout-out before we go? I would like to thank all of my family, friends and coaches for being there for me throughout the years. It has been a long journey and I couldn't have done it without you.
