Hamilton Cross Country Advances Two to Regionals at West Noble Sectional

October 19th 2025 The Hamilton Marines Cross Country team competed Saturday at the IHSAA Sectional meet hosted by West Noble High School. The event featured 14 schools and 94 total runners battling for a spot in next weekend’s regional competition. The top five teams and the top fifteen individuals not on those advancing teams moved on to the regional round. Hamilton placed 11th overall as a team, highlighted by strong individual performances across the board. Junior Robert Schiek led the way for the Marines, finishing 29th overall with an impressive time of 18:07, earning himself a spot at regionals for the second consecutive year. Freshman Lucas Taylor also punched his ticket to regionals, finishing 38th overall in 18:39, capping off an outstanding first high school postseason race. Senior Larsen Dilts had a memorable day, running a personal-best time of 19:16, which was 45 seconds faster than his previous mark. Cooper Farnham crossed in 19:40, followed by Abbott Lingo in 20:22, Marcus Sommers in 20:38, and Graysen Dilts in 25:09 to round out Hamilton’s seven competitors. Head Coach Baker and Assistant Coach Houser expressed their excitement after the meet, proud to see two runners advance to regionals and thrilled with the team’s continued growth. Coach Baker also praised senior Larsen Dilts for his leadership and season-long dedication, noting that his performance and example have set a strong foundation for the younger athletes. Schiek and Taylor will now represent Hamilton Community Schools at the IHSAA Regional Meet on Saturday at Huntington University, where they’ll look to continue their strong postseason runs.
