September 16th 2025 The Hamilton Marines boys cross country team turned in an incredible performance tonight at Montpelier, capturing 1st place overall with a team score of just 40 points. This marks a major team victory for Coach Baker and Houser, and the entire squad. Hamilton led a competitive field with Fairview finishing 2nd (65), North Central 3rd (69), Edgerton 4th (78), Montpelier 5th (106), and Edon 6th (151). Lucas Taylor led the Marines with a strong 3rd-place finish in 18:49. He was closely followed by teammates Robert Schiek (5th, 19:27) and Copper Farnham (6th, 19:28), both running nearly identical times to secure crucial low points. Marcus Sommers (11th, 19:57), Larsen Dilts (15th, 21:00), Abbott Lingo (16th, 21:14), and Grayson Dilts (27th, 24:36) rounded out a balanced team effort that secured the top spot. Hamilton’s consistency and pack running proved to be the difference tonight, and this victory is a huge confidence booster heading into the next stretch of the season.
