April 29th 2025 Hamilton Community Schools track hosted a competitive home meet Tuesday evening with five schools competing on both the girls' and boys' side. On the girls' end of things, Elkhart Christian took the overall team title with 162 points, followed by Lakewood Park Christian (139), Blackhawk Christian (110), Hamilton (55), and Oak Farm (27). The Lady Marines had several standout performances throughout the night. Freshman sprinter Akira Geeraedts had a strong showing across multiple events scoring 19 points , placing in the 100 meters (14.26), 400 meters (1:14.45), 200 meters (30.21), and long jump (10-11.05). Teammate TeigAnn Freed added 10 total points in the 100 meters (14.94) and had a solid long jump of 13-10. In the distance events, Lila Lavaure showed great endurance with a 7:00.70 finish in the mile and a 3:09.64 in the 800 meters. Kristie Kuhn also contributed with a 1:19.35 in the 400 meters. In the field events, Annalise Lingo led the way in the throws, recording a distance of 23-03 in shot put and earning first place in the discus with an impressive toss of 86-07. Despite finishing fourth in team standings, Hamilton's athletes showed strong individual efforts and continue to build momentum as the season progresses. On the boys' side of things Elkhart Christian claimed the team victory with 166 points, followed by Blackhawk Christian (124), Lakewood Park Christian (119), Hamilton (116), and Oak Farm (20). The Marines narrowly missed a top-three finish but delivered several impressive performances across the board. Hamilton’s night was highlighted by Harry Richter, who dominated the throws by taking first place in the discus with a standout throw of 132-09. He also contributed in shot put with a solid mark of 37-04, joined by Christian Sanchez, who threw 31-06.75 and added a 90-11 toss in discus. The 4x800 relay team kicked off the meet strong, clocking a time of 9:58.10, while the 4x100 and 4x400 relay squads turned in times of 48.79 and 4:12.85, respectively. In sprints, Josh Sprague (12.21) and Gavin Clark (12.51) scored in the 100 meters, while Austyn Willibey and Clark both finished with identical times of 25.94 in the 200. Jace Bean held strong in the 400 meters, finishing in 56.77. In hurdles, Caleb McMullen ran a 19.25 in the 110s, while Jagger Hurraw impressed with a 21.88 in the same event and a standout 48.23 in the 300 hurdles. Hurraw also contributed in the field with a 15-09.05 long jump and a 5-04 mark in high jump. Distance events saw Robert Schiek and Cooper Farnham lead the Marines in the 1600 meters (5:17.15 and 5:35.09, respectively), with Schiek also clocking 11:37.39 in the 3200 and clearing 8-06 in pole vault, just behind Farnham’s 9-00. Zach Bernard added a strong effort in the 800 at 2:53.83. Sprague also made an impact in the long jump at 16-10.05, and he cleared 5-00 in high jump, rounding out a well-balanced night for the Marines. With numerous scoring athletes and several personal bests, the Hamilton boys’ team showed depth and determination in a close, competitive meet. The boys are in action on Friday at East Noble and both teams will competing next Tuesday atv Bethany Christian.
