JH Track Competes in Hoosier Plains Conference Invite

April 18th 2025 The Hamilton Marines Junior High Boys and Girls Track team traveled out west to Bethany Christian on Thursday to compete in a 6 team invite that included all of the Hoosier Plains Conference teams. On the girls side of the invite Hamilton placed 3rd overall scoring 70 points. Marine girls who placed in the top 3 include: 100 Hurdles: Lydia Hicks placed 2nd with a time of 19.36 and Piper DePriest placed 3rd with a time of 19.59. 200 Hurdles: DePriest placed 3rd with a time of 37.00 4x400: Hamilton placed 2nd with a time of 5:21.75 High Jump: Heidi Richter placed 2nd with a height of 4-06.00 Long Jump: Hicks placed 2nd with a jump of 12-06.25 Girls team standings: 1) Elkhart Christian Academy 152.5 2) SB-Career Academy 84.5 3) Hamilton Jr. High School 70 4) Lakeland Christian Academy 39 5) Lakewood Park Christian 28 6) Bethany Christian MS 15 On the boys side Hamilton placed 2nd overall with 88 total points. Individuals who placed in the top 3 include: 110 Hurdles: Ace Hil placed 2nd 1600: Lucas Taylor placed 1st with a time of 5:24.49 and Marcus Sommers placed 3rd with a time of 5:39.01 200 Hurdles: Hill placed 2nd with a time of 29.96 800: Taylor placed 1st with a time of 2:31.40 and Sommers placed 3rd with a time of 2:35.10 4x400: Hamilton placed 1st with a time 4:16.99 High Jump: Abbott Lingo placed 1st with a height of 5-04.00 Long Jump: Lingo placed 1st with a jump of 15-06.00 Boys team standings: 1) Elkhart Christian Academy 119 2) Hamilton Jr. High School 88 3) Lakeland Christian Academy 76 4) SB-Career Academy 71 5) Bethany Christian MS 17 6) Lakewood Park Christian 4 The JH team compete again on Monday in Stryker Ohio.
