Thursday January 2nd 2025 The Lady Marines of Hamilton (3-7) tipped off the new year with a rescheduled home game against Lakewood Park (9-3) on Thursday night. Tristen Creager got the Marines on the scoreboard with an offensive putback early on in the first quarter. Bella Rivera drained a three, followed by a free throw from TeigAnn Freed brought the Marines within 8 with just over 2 minutes left in the first quarter but Lakewood finished the quarter strong and took a 6-20 lead heading into the second quarter. Freed knocked down 2 more free throws to start the second quarter, and Creager made a nice post move to her left shoulder but that was all Hamilton was able to score in the period and trailed 10-39 at the half. Freed once again nailed 2 free throws during the third quarter and a scoreless fourth quarter with a running clock brought the final score to 12-72. Hamilton girls will be back in action on Saturday afternoon as they host the Hicksville Aces for a noon tipoff.
