Thursday December 19th 2024 The Lady Marines have found ways to get the job done this past week despite playing shorthanded. December 11th Hamilton hosted Pansophia Academy on a snowy cold night where they won 50-15. TeigAnn Freed was the leading scorer with 23 points including 8 in the first quarter and 9 in the second quarter while also adding 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Taryn Kintz finished with 8 points and 3 rebounds. Brenna Mercer and Bella Rivera added in 7 points and 8 rebounds, Marissa Mercer had 6 points, Tristen Creager had 4 points and 13 rebounds, and Karly Nester closed out the scoring with 2 points and 3 rebounds. On Friday night in front of a packed house Hamilton defeated Fremont's JV team 36-35. Freed knocked down the game winning free throw with the score tied at 35 and just 4 seconds left in the game. This is the second time this season that A Marine has stepped up to the line either to win the game or send it to overtime, earlier this season Marissa Mercer did that with just 0.7 seconds left to force a game into overtime which eventually led to a Hamilton win. Next up for the Lady Marines is a trip down to the Hoosier Gym on Saturday December 21st at 10:00am. Tickets are sold in person only starting at 9:00am for $10 a piece. The gym there holds only 600 people so please arrive early!
