Boys Varsity Wins 2 of 3

Tuesday December 17th 2024 A busy week of varsity boys basketball took place the last 6 days as the boys varsity team played 3 games in 6 days. Last Wednesday, Pansophia Academy made the drive south from Coldwater Michigan to take on our Marines. Hamilton came out on top 65-34. A well balanced scoring attack was led by Xzavier Schieber scoring 13 points, followed by Jaggar Hurraw with 12, Harry Richter and Zane Ritter each had 11, and Dylan Holiday finished with 10 points. On Friday night the boys took on Fremon'ts JV team and came out victorious 49-29. Clayton Spaw was the leading scorer with 18 points on 8-14 shooting, he also had 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Drew Merritt added in 15 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Senior Jaggar Hurraw scored 7 points, picked up 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. As a team the Marines had 19 steals defensively. On Monday night, Hamilton battled but came up just short against Hilltop by a final score of 43-54. Hurraw scored 14 points on 5-9 shooting, and brought in 5 rebounds. Zane Ritter finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Next up for the boys varsity team is a trip down to Knightstown on Saturday December 21st, as they have the opportunity to play in the historic Hoosier Gym where the movie Hoosiers was recorded. Tickets can only be bought at the door starting at 9:00am. The varsity girls will play at 10:00am and the boys varsity will follow. Tickets are $10.00 and the gym only holds 600 people, so get there early!
