Lady Marines Fall in HPC Opener

November 23rd 2024 The Hamilton Lady Marines (1-3, 0-1) hit the road west Saturday morning, as they made the trip to South Bend Career Academy (1-1, 1-0) for the Hoosier Plains Conference Opener. Hamilton came out scoring early winning the first quarter 9-6 and took a 16-14 lead into halftime. Physical play took over in the second half and turned scoring into a challenge for Hamilton as they were only able to score 5 more points the remainder of the game eventually falling 19-24 to the Trailblazers. Taryn Kintz finished with 8 points, TeigAnn Freed had 5 points 3 rebounds and 1 assist, Abbi Dager added in 6 points 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, Marissa Mercer had 5 rebounds and 2 steals and Bella Rivera knocked in a free throw while securing 2 rebounds 3 steals and 2 blocks. The girls will head into Thanksgiving break as part of 12 days game free before taking on Elkhart Christian on December 6th which is a part of a double header with the boys varsity team at Hamilton.
