Saturday November 16th The Lady Marines had everyone on the edge of their seats Saturday afternoon at Canterbury. A back and forth battle all game long ended with Hamilton winning their first game of the season 46 to 42 in overtime. A game full of many storylines including TeigAnn Freed scoring 15 points all of which came from the free throw line. Abbi Dager led the Marines in scoring with 17 points including eight 2 point fields. The clutch moment of the game came with just .7 seconds left and Hamilton trailing by 2. Marissa Mercer pushed the ball up the floor where she was fouled with less than a second on the clock. She stepped to the line and made both free throws to send the game to overtime. After it was all said and done the girls scored 19 points from the foul line and found ways to get big stops on the defensive end. Coach Tadsen picked up career win number 1 and will look to keep the momentum going next Saturday as the girls travel to South Bend Career Academy for the Hoosier Plains Conference opener.
