Wednesday Sports Recap: Great Night for the Marines!

Thursday September 10th 2026 Wednesday was a strong night across the board for Hamilton Athletics, highlighted by impressive performances in girls golf, soccer, and volleyball. The varsity girls golf team traveled to Maxwelton Golf Club in Syracuse to face Wawasee High School. Senior Bella Rivera led the Lady Marines with a 49, tying two Wawasee golfers for third place. Rivera recorded pars on the third, eighth, and ninth holes. Freshman Sloan Hurraw finished just one stroke behind Rivera with a 50, including pars on the sixth and eighth holes. Karly Nester shot a 55 and parred the third hole, while Lilli Dager rounded out the Hamilton lineup with a 62. The Lady Marines return to action tonight at Brookwood Golf Club, where they will face Bishop Luers and Churubusco. The Hamilton 5th–8th grade soccer team opened its season in dominant fashion on the road against rival Eastside, earning an impressive 11–0 victory! Miles Moughler powered the Marines’ attack with eight goals, Ryder Jorn added two, and Elliot Harrison scored once. Hamilton will host Oak Farm next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The junior high volleyball program also enjoyed a successful evening against Churubusco. The eighth-grade team earned a hard-fought 2–0 victory with scores of 26–24 and 25–22. The seventh-grade team fell in two sets, 13–25 and 13–25. At home, the fifth- and sixth-grade teams both earned sweeps. The A team won 25–13 and 25–11, while the B team secured victories of 25–12 and 25–18. Both programs return to the court tonight at 5:30 p.m. The seventh- and eighth-grade teams will host West Noble, while the fifth- and sixth-grade teams travel to West Noble. Overall, it was a great night to be a Hamilton Marine! Go Marines!
