Tuesday September 8th 2026 The Hamilton Marines’ junior high teams were busy on Tuesday, September 8, competing in cross country and volleyball. The 5th–8th grade cross country team traveled to Lakeland Middle School to compete against Lakeland and Churubusco. Hawkins Richter led the Marines with an outstanding performance, winning the boys race with a time of 12:39. Chase Days also finished near the front of the pack, placing third overall in 14:04. Taitum Stoufer led the Hamilton girls, finishing fifth overall with a time of 14:36. Kate Mobley placed seventh in 15:19, followed closely by Chloe Baysinger in eighth at 15:20. Adelena Martin rounded out Hamilton’s top finishers by placing 10th with a time of 17:27. At home, the 5th/6th-grade volleyball teams earned a pair of sweeps over Central Noble. The A team won 2–0 with set scores of 25–21 and 25–15. The B team also won 2–0, controlling the match with victories of 25–8 and 25–17. Hamilton’s 7th- and 8th-grade teams traveled to Central Noble. The 7th-grade Marines fell in two sets, 18–25 and 13–25. The 8th-grade team also lost in two competitive sets, 17–25 and 19–25. Both volleyball groups return to action Wednesday. The 5th/6th-grade teams host Churubusco at 5:30 p.m., while the 7th- and 8th-grade Marines travel to Churubusco for a 5:30 p.m. start.
