Tuesday August 25th 2026 Hamilton Athletics had three teams competing on the road Monday, highlighted by a team victory for the varsity girls golf squad. Girls Golf Defeats South Side The Lady Marines traveled to Fort Wayne and earned a win over South Side at McMillen Golf Course, finishing with a combined team score of 209. Bella Rivera led the field and captured first place with a round of 42. Karly Nester placed second with a 50, followed by Sloan Hurraw in third with a 56. Lilli Dager rounded out Hamilton’s scoring by tying for fifth with a 59. The highlight of the evening came from Nester, whose tee shot stopped just inches away from a hole-in-one! Hamilton returns to the course Wednesday at Cedar Lake for a three-team match against Prairie Heights and Angola beginning at 4:30 p.m. Volleyball Competes at Bishop Luers Hamilton’s varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams traveled to Fort Wayne to face Bishop Luers. The varsity squad competed against the Luers JV team and fell in two sets, 11-25 and 11-25. Gianna Ceci recorded one ace, 13 digs and four kills to lead the Lady Marines. Akira Geeraedts added three blocks and one kill, while Gracie Myers finished with two kills. Lydia Hicks contributed one kill and 11 digs, Harlow Price collected 13 digs and one kill, and Baylee Bartrom added six digs. Hamilton’s JV team also fell in two sets, 7-25 and 6-25. The Lady Marines return to action Thursday when they travel to Prairie Heights for a 6 p.m. match. Middle School Cross Country Races at Elkhart Christian Hamilton’s fifth-through-eighth-grade cross country team, coached by Minde Raney, competed at Elkhart Christian Academy. Hawkins Richter led the Marines with a fourth-place finish in 12:45. Taitumn Stouffer placed eighth with a time of 15:11, while Chase Days finished 15th in 15:39. Kate Mobley crossed the finish line in 16th place with a time of 16:54, and Adelena Martin placed 19th in 17:19. The Marines will race again next Tuesday at West Noble.
