Saturday August 22nd 2026 Lady Marines Open Volleyball Season at Edon The Hamilton Marines varsity volleyball team officially opened the 2026 season Saturday morning on the road, traveling across the state line to take on the Edon Bombers in Edon, Ohio. Hamilton fell to the Bombers in three sets, 10-25, 8-25, and 10-25. Despite the opening-day loss, the match marked the beginning of a new season for a Lady Marines program that continues to grow under Head Coach Amanda Gondell. For the first time in many years, Hamilton is fielding a Junior Varsity volleyball team and playing a JV schedule this season. The return of JV volleyball is a true testament to the continued growth of the program and an important step toward building for the future. Hamilton’s JV team also made its season debut Saturday, falling to Edon 0-2. With opening day now behind them, the Lady Marines will have a quick turnaround. Hamilton is back in action Monday night on the road at Bishop Luers, with the evening scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
