Hamilton Marines Girls Track Caps Off Season with Strong Performances and Personal Records at IHSAA Sectional

May 20th 2026 On a warm but dry Tuesday night, the Hamilton Marines girls track and field team traveled to East Noble High School to compete in the IHSAA Sectional meet, wrapping up a season filled with growth, hard work, and personal best performances. Hamilton saw several athletes turn in strong performances throughout the evening, highlighted by multiple personal records against tough sectional competition. In the field events, freshman Heidi Richter cleared 4-08 in the high jump, setting a new personal record. Lydia Hicks posted a jump of 13-06.25 in the long jump. The Marines had two competitors in discus, led by Annalise Lingo who advanced to the finals and placed 9th overall with a best throw of 97-04. Lilli Dager also competed well in the event with a throw of 76-02. In the shot put, Lilli recorded a throw of 26-11.25 while Annalise added a mark of 26-02. On the track, TeigAnn Freed improved on her sectional seed time in the 100-meter dash preliminaries, crossing the finish line in 13.69. Akira Geeraedts also competed in the event and posted a time of 14.12. In the 200-meter dash, Akira ran a 32.42 while Victoria Preston earned a personal record with a time of 33.04. The Marines also saw strong efforts in the 400-meter dash as TeigAnn Freed finished in 1:08.31 and Baylee Bartrom ran a personal-best time of 1:12.86. Lydia Hicks narrowly missed qualifying for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles, but still earned a personal record with a time of 18.56. Hicks also competed in the 300-meter hurdles where she set another PR with a time of 54.45. Congratulations to all of the Hamilton Marines girls track athletes on a great season filled with improvement, dedication, and personal best performances throughout the year.
