May 6th 2026 Hamilton varsity boys and girls track teams made the trip to Bethany Christian Schools Tuesday evening to compete in a 10-team invitational. The Marine boys finished 6th overall with 49 points, while the Lady Marines placed 7th overall with 32.5 points against a strong field of competition. Leading the way for the Hamilton boys was Robert Schiek, who placed 3rd in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:51 and followed that up with a 4th place finish in the 3200 meters in 10:34. Ace Hill continued his strong season in the hurdles, placing 4th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 17.63 and finishing in 45.86 in the 300 hurdles. The 4x400 relay team earned 4th place overall with a time of 3:48, while the 4x800 relay team finished 3rd overall. Abbott Lingo also had a strong night in the field events, placing 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 17-10. On the girls side, Lydia Hicks placed 5th in the 100 hurdles. The Lady Marines 4x100 relay team earned a 4th place finish with a time of 58.32. Heidi Richter cleared 4-06 to finish 4th in the high jump, while TeigAnn Freed placed 3rd in the long jump with a jump of 14-02. Annalise Lingo rounded out the top finishes for Hamilton by placing 4th in discus with a throw of 81-02.50. The Hamilton Lady Marines softball team traveled to Westview Junior-Senior High School Tuesday night to take on the Warriors. Hamilton jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning when Tristen Creager blasted her second over-the-fence home run of the season, bringing home Marissa Mercer and Tsumiya Sato. Westview answered back with five runs in the bottom half of the inning and eventually pulled away for a 14-3 victory. Offensively for the Lady Marines, Marissa Mercer went 2-3 at the plate, while Karly Nester also finished 2-3. Brenna Mercer added a hit, and Creager finished 1-3 with the three-run homer. Mercer also recorded seven strikeouts in the circle for Hamilton. The Hamilton Junior High golf team traveled to Bridgewater Golf Club to compete against Eastside and Churubusco on a cold and rainy evening. Sam Watkins led the way for the Marines with a score of 60, while Sloan Hurraw shot a 61 and Bentley Lanning added a 69. Tonight, the Hamilton varsity boys golf team travels to Cedar Lake Golf Club for a conference matchup. Good luck Marines!
