May 2nd 2026 After an incredible 17-16 walk-off win in Game 1, the Hamilton Marines varsity softball team stayed red hot at the plate and completed the sweep with a 17-12 victory over the Argos Dragons on Saturday. Hamilton wasted no time getting going in Game 2. In the bottom of the first inning, Tristen Creager singled to bring in Karly Nester, and Marissa Mercer followed with a double to score Creager, giving the Marines an early 2-0 lead. Argos answered with a run in the top of the second, but once again, Hamilton responded in a big way. The Marines exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by another clutch moment from Mercer, who doubled to drive in three runs. Skye Allen then added to the rally with a single that scored Kristie Kuhn and Mercer, extending the lead to 7-1. The third inning turned into an offensive showcase, as both teams combined for a massive outburst. Hamilton’s bats continued to stay aggressive: Karly Nester electrified the crowd with an inside-the-park home run, bringing in two runs Skye Allen added an RBI single Gianna Ceci delivered a 2-RBI single Nester came through again with another RBI single Tsumiya Sato capped the inning with a run-scoring double By the end of the inning, the Marines had built a commanding 17-11 lead. Argos managed to add one more run late, but Hamilton stayed composed and closed things out to secure the 17-12 win, completing an impressive doubleheader sweep. The Lady Marines combined for 34 runs across the two games, showcasing a relentless offense and the ability to respond every time Argos made a push. From timely hitting to explosive innings, Hamilton proved they can score in bunches and play with confidence in high-scoring battles. The Marines will look to carry this momentum into Tuesday as they travel to Westview to take on the Warriors.
