November 14th 2025 The Hamilton Lady Marines put together one of their most complete performances of the season on Thursday night, going toe-to-toe with Prairie Heights’ JV squad in a competitive home matchup that featured multiple lead changes and gritty play from start to finish. Despite Hamilton holding leads after the first two quarters, Prairie Heights edged ahead late to secure a 34–30 victory. Hamilton struck first and struck confidently, winning the opening quarter 10–9 behind a strong start from junior Bella Rivera, who poured in 7 of her 12 points in the first eight minutes. The Marines carried that momentum into the second quarter, heading into halftime with a 17–16 advantage. The back-and-forth battle continued after the break. Prairie Heights managed to take a narrow 24–22 lead into the fourth quarter, but Hamilton remained within striking distance the rest of the way. In the end, a few key late possessions went the Panthers’ way, allowing them to escape with the four-point win. Offensively, Hamilton was led by Rivera and senior Tristen Creager, who each finished with 12 points. Rivera knocked down two three-pointers and provided early energy, while Creager showed her strength inside, scoring all six of her field goals in the paint. Marissa Mercer added 3 points, TeigAnn Freed contributed 2, and Karly Nester chipped in a free throw. The Lady Marines will look to build on this competitive performance when they return to action Monday night on the road at Heritage for a 6:00 PM tip.
